If you have lived in the desert, you probably know about monsoons. These storms can come with down pours, wind, lightening, and flooding. The storm can often be scary but it can also lead to beautiful things. After a desert storm, it smells amazing due to the Creosote plant. It is peaceful. The animals come out. The plants are soaking up the much needed water they need to survive until the next rain. Like a monsoon, we often have struggles and adversities in our lives that can be scary or difficult to navigate. However, with support, we can get through the storm to the peace on the other side. We can build resilience and grow, just like the desert plants and animals. Counseling and a strong therapeutic relationship can be the support a person needs to get to the other side of a storm. I would love to assist you in that journey!
My name is Kat de los Santos. I am a licensed professional counselor in Arizona and Texas. I am also working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist through the Association for Play Therapy. I am passionate about working with children, teens, families, and young adults who have experienced trauma. I also love working with youth and young adults with other struggles including neurodiversity difficulties, anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidality, and life changes. Of course, youth do not exist in a vacuum and therefore, an important part of my job is providing support and education to caregivers! Finally, another one of my passions is completing assessments to help clients gain insight and identify goals. I would be honored to establish a connection and be a part of your healing journey.
